PortCon Day One

It is rather odd for bloggers to take their readers on trips for their first actual post. Though you don't know me very well yet, I hope that you enjoy my recountings of the convention.

This is one of the times I mentioned last night in which my love of Japanese culture and it's different medias (anime and manga, specifically,) will mingle with the whole idea of a "fashion" blog. It's my fifth year attending the annual PortCon Maine. It originally was a brithday present each year from my Mum, but my friends and I still keep the tradition. This year is the first that I will bring two different cosplays and a Lolita coord. Before, I brought one character (perhaps with multiple outfits,) and usually shed it off by lunch. The reason being I always choose cosplays in which I hurt myself, usually with heels. This year I brought Guu (from Haré+Guu) as well as my rendition of Emilie Autumn's Scavenger.

So, today is day one of my adventure. After work I toddled to the convention center (conveniently located mere minutes away) and checked in to the hotel by myself for the first time. There isn't much planned for today, which I deemed a non-cosplay casual day.

Today's outfit consisted of my new shirt from Miss Allegra (H&M), my only fitted skirt (Walmart?), and my trusty bike shorts (QVC).

For the next few days, there will be cosplay and my "casual" outfits, as well as some lovely updates on the Con happenings.

See you then.
